This work was started while on
a 4 month road trip up the east coast of Australia from Melbourne to Cape
Tribulation in 1992. Looking back there was a strong influence coming what
Mambo & Hot Tuna were doing at the time.
The characters & world in
which they are placed grew to take on a style of their own & permeated all
my artistic expression up until I started my Fine Arts Diploma in 1999.
These characters became known
as “Phutts” living in the world of Phuttsville. A mythical place, where curious individuals are concerned
with world ecology, the march of technology and their own sense of community.
